Our current research largely focuses on exploiting advances in mechatronics, e.g., mechanical design, sensing, actuation, computing, and controls, to improve the quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability of manufacturing machines and processes. A key application focus of our research is additive manufacturing (3D printing). Other application areas include nanopositioning, roll-to-roll manufacturing, machining, and precision metrology. Visit our research page to find out more.
